We have partnered with See’s Candy this holiday season to raise funds to help the children at the Basag Elementary School in the Philippines.
All funds will be used to provide food and vitamins to children who are extremely poor and are in need of assistance.
Unlike the US, in the Philippines the majority of public schools do not have lunch programs nor do they have cafeterias.
In such schools, the teachers have to take it upon themselves to provide food to these needy children, provided funding is available which is often not the case.
We have committed ourselves to provide some of the needed monies to help feed 40 of the children who are in dire need of assistance. This support includes providing food and vitamins for twice a week. The hope is to find additional financial assistance to help provide rations for the children to have 5 lunch rations a week for the rest of the school year or longer if funding permits.
